PONDA: in an attempt to exclude their village of proposed Ponda planning and Development Authority (PPDA), some of the villages of Curti and Khandepar on Sunday which threatened to come to the streets if their village is not "spared from PPDA" soon.
The Government recently including village in Ponda PPDA along with the city after the village of joining hands and formed the Samiti Hatao PDA Curti-Khandepar.
The Committee held a public meeting Sunday in the Haveli-Curti in Ponda. More than a thousand locals, who were present for the meeting, unanimously decided to oppose the Government motion. The meeting was the 20-day ultimatum to the Government of the State to back his decision of inclusion of villages in PPDA.
The Ultimatum expired on December 31, and if the Government "does not respect the wishes of the people", the villagers have threatened a massive agitation at the beginning of the new year.
Kamlakant Parab, organization, warned that agitation can also lead to the legal situation as well. "The State Government will be fully responsible for the situation," he said.
